September was crazy!! The month literally flew by - with both kids starting school and activities, it was very busy and packed with a ton of change.
First day of Grade 1 for Tyson!! This picture doesn't show it, but Ty was super excited to go to his "new school". We had gone for a very short visit the week before - so he was very excited about his new classroom, gym, sensory room, and library.
Ty's first day of school (and week) went amazing!! We are so beyond proud of our sweet little boy! What a huge step for him. All I wished and wanted was for Ty to enjoy going to school, go all day, have fun, participate, and actually eat. And he's doing all of that - and doing super well!! His teacher reports that he is participating and doing well in all of the activities and he actually sits in his desk really well. I could not be more proud of this boy! So much work went into making this transition a good one - months and months of work with his entire therapy team - and to see him transition well was a huge relief!! I'm not going to lie - there was a time when I really didn't think he would ever be able to go to school. But a lot of hard work, prayer, and tears later and we have reached our goal!!
Courtney started big girl dance classes this year, so Courtney and I had to take a special trip to the dance store to get her bodysuit, tights, ballet slippers, and tap shoes! So much fun!!
First pair of ballet slippers!!
First pair of tap shoes!!
The weather in early September was super hot (around plus 30) so we made sure to get out and enjoy the sunshine when Ty got home from school.
Playing at the spray park one last time!!
Cute little buddies!
One of Ty's teachers took a cute picture of Ty in his desk at school. So cute!! What a big boy!
Courtney and I went on a trip to the zoo while Ty was at school one day. We ended up getting caught in a thunderstorm!! Haha!!

I changed our sensory bin back to the farm and Ty was absolutely loving it! So cute!
Playing in the backyard! Ty was pretending to be Benny the Bull as a potato being pulled in a wagon. Haha!
And of course Courtney has to copy everything Tyson does.....haha!
My kids are VIP! We got to feed Hope cookies again! Spoiled kids!
Even Ty did it too! Great job buddy!!
Reading time with Daddy. So cute!
Courtney always has a pile of crafts for me to bring home after school. She is having a lot of fun!
It is Alberta, so we got snow.....of course. Courtney was very excited!!!
It was super sticky snow - so we had to make a snowman. Courtney even built it mostly all by herself!
Building more snowmen! Big girl!
Once I finally dragged her back inside, we made some yummy cookies together.
Yum!
Poor Ty. He got a super terrible cold and started having a super rough time at school. As it turns out, he had a terrible cold, was cutting his adult molars, and his 2 front teeth are loose. Poor guy!!! Things seem to have settled down and he is doing much better at school this week. Poor guy needed to stay home longer than just a couple days!!
Courtney watching the tiger at the zoo. Its so cool when the tiger is out and walking around!
We love going on after school bike rides!
Courtney waiting for dance class to start. Cutie!
I took a couple pictures of Court in dance class - so cute!!
She loves to watch herself in the mirror! haha!
Costco lunch with this cutie!!
September was a pretty crazy month, but we seem to be settling into our routines better now. Now that Ty seems to be feeling better - he seems to be back to his old self and doing great at school! Here's to a great year! (The alone time for Mommy is also pretty great.....although the 2 hours that Court is in school goes super fast!)
