It's a Girl!!!

I finally had my 20 week ultrasound this week!!  I was so excited to finally be going, I ended up having to fly back to Calgary to take care of all my medical appointments as nothing is happening here in BC.  And we are thrilled to announce that.....its and GIRL!!!  I am absolutely overjoyed!!  Brock and I are so excited and feel so blessed to be welcoming a little princess in April!  Only 4 more months to go!

Here is my and my baby girl at 18 weeks.  Still pretty small, although I feel like I have really popped since this photo was taken.

Our little princess!  Pretty good picture, although she was moving a lot during the exam!

Life in Chilliwack

Well, we have been in Chilliwack for about 6 weeks now, and will probably be here for another 3.  I have been trying to keep Ty busy and entertained as much as I can during our stay, and it really hasn't been so bad.  We have gone swimming a bunch of times, which has been a lot of fun!  The pool is really not busy during the week and it's really cheap to go!  We are all looking forward to the new year and getting settled and ready for our baby girl!

One of Brock's co-workers lent us an entire bin of hot wheel cars - so generous!  Ty has LOVED playing with them!  Truly a lifesaver.  He loves to pile them all on the table, over and over again.

So many cars!  This kid can never have enough cars.

Eating cookies and watching cartoons!  Ty's new favorite thing is Snoopy, he thinks that he is hilarious!

While we watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade we attempted to decorate cookies.  Ty liked to play with the icing, but I was a little nervous about staining the rug.  I think he still had fun, even with me "helping" a little too much.

Ty's other favorite spot is to lean on the TV stand and watch TV.  So cute.

Ty's First Airplane Ride!

Recently Brock got a work contract to run a hotel in Chilliwack, BC.  The contract is for 6 weeks, possibly longer, and Ty and I didn't want to be away from Daddy for that long, so we packed up and moved to Chilliwack for a month or so.  Brock drove out with a Jeep packed full of stuff to make sure we would be comfortable, so grateful!!  A couple days later Ty and I hopped a flight to meet up with Daddy!

All in all, the flight was really good.  I am super grateful to Brock's brother Josh who got a pass to walk us all the way to the gate.  Seriously, I would not have made it there without him.  Ty's car seat is super heavy and Ty was being a bit fussy getting through security, so his help was invaluable!

Our flight got delayed an hour, which was a big bummer.  I had just let Ty go run around, thinking we would be getting on the plane right away, and then they let us know we were delayed!!  Suck!  Ty was pretty tired by the time we finally got going, but he was great on the plane and only freaked out right at the end when the lights came back on and he realized how many people were around that he didn't know.  So proud of him!

I took one picture of him before we took off.  He watched a movie during the flight and looked like this pretty much the entire time.  We are so glad to be here and with Daddy!

Halloween!!

This year for Halloween Ty dressed up as Woody, one of his favorite Disney characters!  The costume was so cute!  Ty has been pretty anti-hat lately, so he refused to wear his hat, but he wanted his Woody toy to try it on and of course Mommy too!

Brock's awesome Scar pumpkin.  I didn't really have time to help this year and our carving tools broke, so this is doubly impressive!

Ty as Woody with Woody!  He was pretty excited!

Ty hitting a studly pose!  Looking super cute!

This year we went to the mall to trick or treat with Brock's cousin Kristin and her son.  It was a lot of fun!  Ty loved running around the mall and he got a pretty good haul of treats!

Ty enjoying a chicken strip with his haul of treats.  Good work buddy!

Ty's 2nd Birthday!!

My little man is 2!!  I can't believe how grown up he is now.  Tyson is simply the best.  He is the happiest kid, laughs and giggles all the time, is still super smiley (so much so that I am having trouble getting a passport photo of him done), and is just a really happy kid.  Tyson LOVES cars and anything with wheels.  That is probably putting it lightly.  Anywhere we go, if there are strollers or wagons, he is on them right away.  Kinda frustrating, but that's my little guy.  Ty also loves letters.  He knows almost all of his alphabet and loves to read letters everywhere!  Going to the mall means lots of signs to read the letters on, and he loves to watch Wheel of Fortune!  Ty and I also finally got off nursing about 2 months ago and he is feeding himself really well now.  He loves grapes, chicken nuggets, and these baby granola bars.  I am so proud of my little man!

Such a good picture!  Looking so grown up!

When Ty got up from his nap on his birthday it was party time!!  He loved the balloons!  He had to play with them right away, chasing after them saying, "ba, ba, ba"!!  (Ball)

Opening presents!!  Not too many pictures of this as it was a mad dash to get the trucks out of their boxes!  Ty got a bunch of new cars and trucks - his favorite!

Cool sword from Gabby and Kent!

Playing with one of my new cars.

Ty's new favorite movie is Cars (big surprise, I know).  Cool Cars cake though!  And the cars on top are real cars!  They actually roll really well too - very impressed!

Loving his cake!

Eyeing up those cars!  He loved those more than the actual cake!

Happy Birthday little man!  Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

Baby #2!!!

It came as a bit of a surprise, but we are super excited to announce that we are expecting baby #2!!  I am due around April 24, 2013.  I think my doctor in Calgary really likes looking at tests results (he often goes on about how cool this and that test are and goes through all my results with me even though everything is normal).  On the plus side, I got a 7 week and a 12 week ultrasound already!  Its actually really amazing too see how much the baby has changed in only about a month.  The 7 week ultrasound is basically a grey blob that you can maybe see it flicker (I did get to hear the heartbeat, which was very cool).  By 12 weeks there is a real baby in there!  The baby had hiccups during the appointment, very cute!  Here is a picture of our new little one, 12 weeks old (back on Oct 9)!!

Summer!!

It has been a beautiful summer!  Ty has spent most days in his swimsuit, which is great!  Most days we wither go to the park, which is this really cool private residents club that has a great playground and this awesome fountain to splash and play in, or we play in the front yard in the pool.  We have also enjoyed many playdates with Brock's cousins which has been so fun!  I wish I had more pictures, especially of the playdates, but we have been having too much fun!

Playing in the fountain at Tuscany Club.  Never fails, no matter how many toys you bring, we have to play with everyone else's.

Loving the fountain!

Ty looks so big in this kid swing now!  I remember how small he was last year!

Playing in the pool in our front yard.  Great purchase!

Slashing Mommy with the elephant fountain!

Happy boy.

Playing with the palm tree!  It has moneys on it Mommy!

Just a short, but cute, video of Ty playing in his pool.

Birthdays in Banff!!!

After working so hard over Stampede, Brock was able to take a couple extra days off right around our birthdays!  Since they fall in the same week, we like to do something extra fun to celebrate, and with Banff so close, it seemed like the thing to do this year!  Brock got us an awesome room (and upgrade) at the Rimrock hotel.  It is amazing!  I wish we had more time, but it was still great to get away.

Playing in the pillows!

Laugh attack!!

After dinner we went to the Bow Falls.  Beautiful!

Hanging with Daddy.

View from our room!  It was amazing!

Trip Back to E-Town!!

Over the July long weekend, one mine and Brock's couple friend's were having their pre-wedding festivities so we made a bit of trip out of our return to E-Town.  Other than getting stuck on the highway for an hour due to some random car crash, the trip was really good, and really busy!  We were able to get out to my parent's place a couple times for some grandparent time.  Gido got Ty a new tractor, which he was thrilled about!  Here are a few photos of our visit.

Playing with his new tractor!

Getting dirty in the flower beds!

This picture didn't really turn out, but he was sitting in the grass just beaming!  Thanks Gido!

Walking with Gido.

Vacations are hard work!  He was soo tired over the weekend...I later found out that he started to cut his lower molers while on this trip.  Poor guy!

This video is for my Dad.  He gave him this ball popper while we were at his place, but he never got to see him actually play with it "properly".  He just ran around carrying it.  Of course, after the day I took this video he insisted on throwing it at me all the time, so the ball popper has been on a time out for a while.  Boys will be boys.

Fun in the Sun!

It has been so nice getting some summer-like weather!  We have been enjoying the park and the sunshine!  We even busted out the pool one day, it was just too hot!  Except...that I couldn't find Ty's actual baby pool and didn't want to waste such a nice day at walmart...so I improvised and found Ty's old baby bath!  Haha! Ty actually really loves putting himself in small bins lately, especially the lego bin, so he didn't mind his little bucket of a pool.

Ty is also really getting into the park, which is a lot of fun.  I really like the park by our new house.  Its nice equipment, not too big, not too complicated.  Ty LOVES the slide!  The other day he mastered the big boy twisty slide!  I only have pics on the little slide, he was too busy going up and down to pose for pics at that point anyways.

Loving the slide!

Such a big boy - I do it myself!

Big boy in a little tub!  HAHA!  Such a good picture though!

What I love about being a Mom...

This week I have been thinking a lot about being a Mom.  Sure, there is stuff that drives me crazy....getting no sleep, having my hair pulled all day long, temper tantrums....but there is so much that I truly love about it.  I love that I can sit around in my pj's all day (sometimes days at a time) and Tyson really doesn't care, he actually prefers it.  I love that I get to be a kid again - play with toys, go to the park, watch cartoons, play with bubbles.  I love that i get to run errands mid-week...i hate the mall on the weekends.  I love it when I am walking with Ty and he looks up at me with a huge smile on his face.  I know that he loves me more than anything else in this world and that melts my heart.  I love all the hugs and kisses Tyson gives me.  I love listening to Ty's many "stories" - Ty still speaks his own language, but I absolutely love it.  I love knowing that I helped to create this wonderful little miracle.  When Ty is sleeping in my arms, I often look down at him and think of how amazing life is.  How I helped to co-create him along with my Heavenly Father and what a precious gift and miracle that truly is.  I am so grateful to our Heavenly Father that he could possibly trust us, and me, with such a precious gift.  With all the ups and downs and mistakes, I sometimes wonder how I can do this, but we always make it through and with a little patience and love, it will always work out.  I love that Tyson is making me a better person.  He has taught me so much about myself, and although I have a long way to go, I know that together we will become the people that our Heavenly Father knows we are destined to become.

Spring Days!

We have really been enjoying the warm weather! The other day I got some bubbles for Ty and I to play with and it was a big hit! He loves watching them fly all over and playing with the bucket - of course!

Watching the cars...Ty's favorite thing ever. Cars, wheels, balls.

Checking out the shrubs.

Man on a mission....more cars probably. haha!

More bubbles Mommy!
