Visit from Grandma!!

This past week Brock's Mom came to visit us!  It was so fun to have her here!  The kids really warmed up to her quickly and played with her so well.  Thank you so much for coming!

Courtney and Grandma!

Tyson and Grandma!

Since Courtney's birthday is only a couple weeks away, we decided to do a little pre-birthday celebration while Shelley was here!  I had to put a bit in Court's mouth to get her to try it, but as soon as she did, she couldn't get enough!  A big hit for sure!  Such a difference from Tyson's first cupcake.  Ty barely touched it and ended up making himself throw up!

Just checking it out.

Getting her hands messy!  Ty hates getting messy...

Can I eat this?

Happy girl!  She went to town!  Loved it!

Cute moment, I caught Courtney putting her little dolly in her baby stroller!  So cute!

Such a cute girl!

The past couple days have been beautiful weather!  So I had to get the kids out to enjoy the sunshine!  And enjoy they did!  It was Court's first time really exploring, now that she can walk!

Happy girl in the sun!  I love this photo!

Court spent most of her time outside like this.  Shouting to try and get to her brother.  Haha!  Poor girl!  No boots and waaay too messy still.  I had her locked on the deck with the baby gate.  She was so mad.  She loves her brother so much!

Trying to get her to try the little baby car.  She was not a big fan.  Too early I think.

Ty was so happy to be outside!!  He just loves being in the yard!

Such a happy guy!

Love this hoodie!  Cool color combo.

It's going to be a fun month over here!  Court is having her birthday party this weekend, since her birthday landed on Good Friday this year, then Easter!!  More fun to come!!

March Madness!

March has been a fun month!  The weather was turning all spring like and we were getting excited for spring, then spring came and its cold and snowy again.  Lame.  Courtney is growing up so fast!  She can now walk very easily.  She can get up and down on her own and walk all over the house.  Such a big girl!  I am so excited for her birthday party!  Only a few weeks to go!

Courtney loves straw cups!

Ty loves his aqua-doodle pen!  He loves to draw on the table with it.  Here are some of his smiley faces!

Building some awesome towers!

We took the kids to the Mom and Tot Fair!  It was ok, but I wouldn't go back.  It was really busy, which made trying out the activities hard.

Ty and the duckie at the petting zoo.  This is what Ty has to say about duckies, "Duckie. Quack, Quack. Water."  Thank you Tyson, that is all you need to know about ducks!

Playing with the sponges.

Playing in the sandbox.

So every kid had a bubble gun, so we got one too.  That's just how it goes.  However, I will enjoy using it this summer instead of getting bubble goo all over my hands!

Ever kid also had a fun balloon.  Ty got a Boots one.  It is pretty cute and the kids have played with it every day since we bought it.

When the weather was still warm, we went in the yard to play!  We are really looking forward to good weather!

Ty is looking so grown up these days!  Getting so big!

Enjoying the sun!

Happy guy!

Ty looks like a little boy scout or something!  Haha!

My happy girl!  Good teeth picture!

Such a cute girl!

Showing off her cute smile!

I love, love, love this little dress I bought Courtney!

Trying to get a good picture....nope.  Running away from me, hair bow in hand!

Cute girl!

Super cute dress!

I love my iphone.  Seriously love it.  The picture quality is awesome, but it has no image stabilization!  So many good shots turn out fuzzy!  Really frustrating!  I've thought about getting a really nice camera, but its so expensive and I'm not sure I would even know how to use it.  Would it be too complicated?

St.Patrick's Day!  Court wasn't in the mood to take pictures, and I had chased her all afternoon the day before, so I thought this was good enough.  She loves Woody!  Ty was playing with Woody today and Court bolted over to get him!  Haha!  That's mine brother!

Trying to catch a cute moment!  Ty actually pulled Courtney in for a hung while sitting behind her!  So cute!  He loves her so much and plays with her really well....most of the time!  Hoping I can get them to sit nice for family pictures this summer!

The video below is a really good first steps video of Courtney and a cute video of the kids playing together!

10 Months!?!

I can't believe my baby girl is 10 months old!  Where did the time go?  And man is she busy!!  Does she know she is ONLY 10 months old?  The most exciting news this month is that Courtney took her first steps!!  Right on her 10 month birthday too.  I knew all day that she wanted to do it too.  She has been letting go and standing up on her own for a while now, so I knew it had to be close.  She is eating great too!  She loves peas, peaches, cheerios, and lazana!  Such a big girl!  I'm so impressed.  I wish I knew what I knew now about helping babies learn to eat, I had no idea what stuff to give Ty when he was little.  Not sure if he would have actually tried to put anything in his mouth though...  Courtney also babbles a lot.  She makes sounds that sound like mama and dada sometimes, but I don't know if its a word or just baby babbles.  She knows the words Mommy and Daddy though and will look for us.  She loves Daddy and makes sure he gives her hugs and kisses if he comes in the room.  She loves to give kisses.  She loves Care Bears, My Little Pony, Cinderella, and Minnie Mouse!  Such a girl!  I love it!  And she loves dolls!  She has claimed Woody as her doll and Brock got Ty a Dora doll which is now hers too (Ty wasn't that into it...funny!).  She is growing up so fast and is so fun!

Busy girl!  Always getting into everything!

Loves KD!  Cute teeth picture too!

Mmmm cheerios!  So impressed!

I think she wants me to make some cookies....

Happy Valentine's Day!  Such a cute girl!  Love this outfit!

Ummm....you are ONLY 10 months old baby!

Lazana and peas!! Her favorite dinner!

It's so cute when they play together!  Ty loves piling the toys all around her.

Look Mom, no hands!!  She took her first steps later that night!

Courtney is loving this baby stroller!  Such a fun toy!

Cute girl in overalls!  Ty wore these too!

I was putting Courtney down for a nap and came down to find Ty sitting on the stroller toy!  Too funny!

And one more cute one, because she is super cute!

It's Clicking!!

It's Clicking!!  I don't know if it's Tyson or me, but his language really seems to be clicking in the past couple weeks.  Probably a combination of both.  I am starting to understand him more and he is starting to talk more and more.  I bet that since I am understanding him more he is getting more confident with his speech.  No matter the reason, I am really happy and excited about it!  He still uses a lot of baby language, but he can speak in sentences.  The other day he was really excited about the new clothes I had bought and was lining them up and playing with them.  Courtney wanted to play too.  At first Ty was a little annoyed, but we told him to share and he started piling the clothes around her and saying, "I share with you!".  It was the best!

Tyson LOVES Dora.  That might be an understatement.  Most of what he says is from Dora.  He likes to play Dora, all day long.  So if he is talking to you about hills, Benny's Barn, chocolate trees, and dog houses and the like, its all about Dora, all the time.  Although he did inform us the other day, "I like cookies.  I like puppies."  Yes, sweet boy you do.  This morning we were watching Dora and it was a Mother's Day episode.  I thought he would like it for the chocolate tree, which he did.  But at the end he turned to me and said, "Happy Mother's Day!" and gave me a big kiss.  Seriously, how sweet!  I'll have to remember that he gave me my Mother's Day gift in February!

Tyson has always been good with learning words, just not conversational words.  He has known his alphabet since before he was 2, he knows his colors, shapes, can count from 1-10 in English and Spanish, and knows lots of animal names.  He isn't into animal sounds though, he's never really picked up on that.

He understands quite well, but he doesn't always listen.  If he doesn't want to do it, you can count on a big tantrum or for him to ignore you.  But if I tell him it is a meal or snack time, he comes to the table to eat.  If we are playing and we need to get a stray toy, he will go get it for me.  If I'm cleaning up, he either doesn't care, gets mad, or says, "my toys!".  Heaven forbid they go back in the bins!!  He doesn't really answer questions and when he asks for things he usually pulls at you, but he did ask me for crackers using the word the other day and he has been saying "Mommy do" while we are playing.  He loves to sing, but usually makes me do the singing so he can do the dancing. He just wants to play, play, play.  Always has.  He is stubborn and determined, but I think that will serve him well in his life.  He's not a follower, he will carve his own path and fight for what he wants.  I love this little guy so much and I'm so glad that he is starting to open up a bit!  I just need to remember that he can talk, he just is going to do it in his own time.

Hmmm....maybe Heavenly Father has been trying to teach me something here.....  ;)
